WHEN NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WORKS

Study Purpose

To understand the experience of organizational support
for positive outcome from negative feedback

Stated formally, the purpose of the study is to understand how managers and subordinates experience the organization as an instrument of support before, during and following a negative feedback event when the negative feedback leads to positive outcome.

Share your stories of negative feedback that worked!

Negative feedback is defined as information from a source indicating the need for something different in performance.

If you fit ALL the following criteria, I would like to learn more about your experiences:

  • You gave or received negative performance feedback.
  • You would describe  the experience as difficult in some way.
  • You believe that the outcome of this feedback has been positive.
  • You and the other party were established professionals at the time of the events.

NOTE:  Established is construed here to mean someone with roughly five or more years of professional work experience.
